Coretraks — User Guide
Coretraks is a distribution + inventory layer for fragmented salvage sellers — get your inventory searchable and get more part inquiries. It is a searchable parts catalog with a WhatsApp-driven quote workflow for independent auto recyclers. It is not an online store.
Here is the whole idea in one sentence: a buyer finds your part on Google, looks at the car it came off, and taps a button that opens WhatsApp with a message already written. You answer on WhatsApp like you always do, and Coretraks quietly keeps a list of everyone who asked about what.
This guide is written for the two people who use Coretraks every day:
- Buyers — DIY car owners and local repair shops browsing your catalog and asking for a quote.
- Yard staff (dealers) — the people logging wrecked cars, listing parts, and working the inquiry list from a phone.
A few things Coretraks deliberately does not do: prices on the page, online checkout, shipping, and customer accounts. If you need those, this is the wrong tool by design. Everything below describes what the app actually does today.

What you are looking at
Each yard runs Coretraks on its own web address (for example
amautosales.coretraks.com). The home page is that yard's live inventory: the
donor cars in the yard right now and the high-value parts pulled from
them. There is no cart and no checkout. The catalog is here so you can find the
right part and start a conversation with the yard.
Browsing the catalog
There are two kinds of pages:
- Donor cars. Every wrecked vehicle has its own page with whole-car photos, the year / make / model / trim, the pickup yard, and the parts known to come off it. Tap any photo to view it fullscreen; from there you can step through the car's other photos with the on-screen arrows (or arrow keys on a computer) and close with the ✕ button or Escape key. Parts are grouped under collapsible mechanical-system sections — Powertrain, Brakes, Electrical, and so on, the way a parts counter groups them — so you can open just the system you care about. Even parts that aren't listed on their own show up here: if the car is in the yard, you can ask about any part on it.
- Parts. High-value parts (engines, transmissions, doors, headlights, infotainment, and the like) get their own page with photos, the car they came off, and condition notes.
Filtering and searching
Use the filters at the top of the catalog to narrow down:
- Pick a year, make, and model to find the car you need.
- Pick a part category — the category list is grouped by mechanical system (Powertrain, Brakes, Electrical, …) so it's quick to find.
- Your active filters show as small chips you can tap to remove, so you can always see and undo what you picked.
Your filters live in the page address, so a filtered view is shareable — send someone a link straight to "2014 Honda Civic headlights" and they'll see the same results.
Car and part links are made for sharing, too: paste one into WhatsApp or a text message and the preview shows the yard's name and a photo of the actual car or part.
Requesting a quote
- Find the car or part you want.
- Tap Get a quote.
- WhatsApp opens (on your phone or WhatsApp Web) with a message already written, including the link to what you're asking about.
- Send it. A staff member replies on WhatsApp with price and availability.
A few things worth knowing:
- No account needed. You don't sign up, log in, or hand over an email address. Tap the button and you're in WhatsApp.
- Local pickup and delivery only. Yards fulfill locally — pickup at the yard or local delivery. No shipping or freight.
- The quote is a conversation, not an order. Nothing is reserved or charged when you tap the button. Price, condition, and pickup are settled with the yard over WhatsApp.
For yard staff — running your inventory
You run Coretraks from your phone as an installable app (PWA). The staff side is built for use in the yard: big buttons, one thing per screen, and steps that assume you have one hand free and maybe gloves on.
1. Sign in and install the app
- Go to your yard's site and open the sign-in page (
/admin/login). - Sign in with your staff login.
- You only ever see and manage your own yard's cars, parts, and inquiries.
- Add the app to your phone's home screen so intake is one tap away in the yard.
2. Log a new wreck (intake)
When a car arrives, log the whole car first:
- Scan the VIN with your phone camera. Read it as a barcode (the sticker on the driver's door jamb) or as text (the stamped plate on the windshield or dash) — whichever you can see. Coretraks decodes it and fills in the year, make, model, and trim, plus the fitment for the parts that come off that car. No retyping the same details over and over.
- Check the details the scan filled in, and fix anything the VIN didn't get right.
- Photograph the whole car and add the shots. Car photos are required — they're what buyers look at, and they anchor every part that comes off the car. On a phone, tapping Add Photos lets you either take a new photo with the camera or pick one from your photo library.
Once you save, the car is live in the public catalog with its photos and known parts. Parts you didn't list on their own are still findable on the car's page, so buyers can ask about them.
<!-- screenshot: the VIN scan step and the intake photo picker showing camera vs library -->3. Fix up a car's photos later
Photos aren't locked in at intake. Open the car's page and scroll to Photos to manage them any time:
- Change the thumbnail. Tap Make thumbnail on any photo to make it the car's lead shot — the one buyers see on the catalog and at the top of the car's page. The current lead photo is labeled Thumbnail.
- Delete a photo. Tap the ✕ on a photo to remove it (bad shot, wrong car, thumb over the lens). The app asks you to confirm first. If you delete the thumbnail, the next photo takes its place.
- Add more photos. Tap Add Photos to shoot or pick new ones, same as at intake. New photos land after the existing ones.
4. Delete a car (when you need to)
From a car's page you can permanently delete it. This removes the car's public page, every part listing it produced, and all its photos — buyers can no longer find any of it. Deleting cannot be undone, so the app asks you to confirm first. Use it when a car was logged by mistake or has left the yard for good.
5. Promote a part to its own listing
Don't list every nut and bolt. Promote the hits — engine, transmission, doors, headlights, infotainment — to their own pages so they show up in search and stand on their own.
- From the donor car, promote a part to a listing.
- Add part photos if you have them (optional, but they help it sell).
- Set the price. Coretraks uses tiered pricing by part category, so a part you just promoted starts with a sensible default price. Override the price on any listing when a specific part is worth more or less.
The listing goes live as its own page, ready for buyers to find and quote on.
<!-- screenshot: the promote-a-part flow with the price field and category tier -->6. Mark a part sold
When a part sells, mark it sold from its listing. Sold listings don't disappear: the page stays up with a Sold badge so the link keeps working and the yard keeps the search value it earned. Sold parts drop out of the default catalog view so buyers focus on what's still available.
7. Work the inquiry inbox
Every time a buyer taps Get a quote, Coretraks saves an inquiry (a "lead") so nothing slips through, even if you miss the WhatsApp ping in the moment.
- Open the inbox to see every quote request — which car or part, and when.
- Move each inquiry through its status as you work it, so the team can see what's handled and what's still open.
- Filter by status to focus on the inquiries that still need a reply.
- Open any inquiry to see the full picture: the listing it came from and the message the buyer sent, so you can pick up the conversation with everything in front of you.
The inbox is the safety net under the WhatsApp flow — work it daily and no inquiry goes unanswered.

Coretraks is run per yard.
- Buyers: the fastest way to an answer is the Get a quote button — it puts you straight onto the yard's WhatsApp.
- Yard staff: if something in the app isn't behaving, raise it with your platform operator.
